How On The Record works.

On The Record lets you chat with AI avatars of Nigerian leaders. Every avatar speaks strictly from a curated set of public documents — speeches, interviews, manifestos, official records, and press coverage. The goal is simple: make it easier for Nigerians to know their leaders' actual track record, in a format that's fun to explore.

How grounding works

1

You ask a question

2

We search that leader's documents only

3

The answer cites exactly what it used

If nothing relevant is found in the record, the avatar says so — it never guesses, and it never uses outside knowledge. Every claim in an answer is traceable to a numbered source you can open and read yourself.

🤖 The AI disclosure

Every avatar on this platform is an AI simulation, not the real person. Answers are generated from the documents listed below and can still contain mistakes — treat them as a starting point, and use the "Receipts" on every answer to verify anything that matters. On The Record never predicts elections, endorses a candidate or party, or tells you how to vote.

Document index

Every document is tagged by type — official record, press coverage, interview, court record, academic source, or public statement — and carries its original URL and date.

Obafemi Awolowo 12 docs
Peter Obi 11 docs
Bola Tinubu 14 docs

Privacy

Before chatting, we ask for your name, email, country, an optional phone number, and optionally your gender (only so the avatar knows how to address you) — this is a simple sign-in, not an account. Conversations themselves are never stored; refresh the page and the chat is gone. We never sell or share your data.
